ActionSA is outraged by the disgraceful state of the Matsulu Stadium, which remains incomplete and unusable despite a significant budget allocation years ago. Our oversight visit confirmed that apart from fencing, no meaningful construction has taken place, leaving the community without a much-needed sports and recreational facility.

It is unacceptable that public funds were allocated for this project, yet there is no evidence of proper expenditure or progress. This failure not only denies local youth opportunities for development but also reflects the broader crisis of financial mismanagement and lack of accountability in government.

ActionSA demands:

– A full audit of the funds allocated to the project to determine how public money was spent

– A clear plan from the Mpumalanga Department of Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation to complete the stadium

– Community engagement to ensure transparency and accountability in future infrastructure projects

The people of Matsulu deserve better. ActionSA will not stand by while government failures continue to rob communities of the services and infrastructure they were promised. We will pursue answers and ensure that those responsible for this wasteful expenditure are held accountable.
