The municipality says a feasibility study on the site has been done to help determine the best uses of the precinct with various areas of infill opportunities to develop underused or vacant spaces identified. It is envisaged that the development opportunities will be made available on a phased basis depending on market take up.
The proposed mixed-use development aims to incorporate retail, commercial, and business components with the parking area site to be made available to the market through an auction.
The desktop valuation has estimated the site’s market value to be approximately R17.6 million.
The City of Cape Town says it will release more information once details are finalised.
