Suid Street was a hub of activity this morning as operations at the Limpopo Academic Hospital site were stopped over alleged tender irregularity.
POLOKWANE – The Community Business Engagement Forum (CBEF) in Polokwane stopped operations at the construction site of the Limpopo Central Academic Hospital in Suid Street this morning over alleged irregularly awarded tenders to three companies.
From the start of business at 07:00 to 10:00 when operations resumed, scores of workers remained outside the entrance to the site, while heavily armed security personnel and police, accompanied by a nyala, manned the entry point of the construction site.
Suid Street became a hub of activity with the many workers who told Polokwane Observer that they were unaware of whether they wold be allowed to go in the site to continue their work.
Beyond the gate was a group of men, consisting of those from the forum and Enza Construction with police officers in their presence discussing the dissatisfaction, seemingly quite calmly.
They have concluded to meet soon to deliberate some more.
