The project, including essential infrastructure, parking/road construction, landscaping, and utility installations, is expected to be completed by the second half of this year.

The second half of 2025 will see a Pretoria east shopping centre transformed into a “modern, vibrant retail hub”.

Lynnridge Mall is undergoing a multi-million rand redevelopment process, according to mall marketing manager, Qume Tocknell-Heenop.

Tocknell-Heenop said the aim of the revamp is to transform the existing double-level centre to accommodate the ever-growing population in the area.

The total cost of the revamp is estimated to be more than R200-million.

The project scope encompasses a comprehensive reconfiguration of various tenants alongside essential infrastructure work, including earthworks, parking/road construction, landscaping and utility installations.

“This redevelopment aims to deliver an enhanced shopping journey, featuring new stores alongside long-standing favourites,” Tocknell-Heenop said.

She said the transformation will also include a modern design and ample convenient parking.

“The new name, Lynnridge Walk, reflects a vibrant, community-focused identity – a destination designed to meet everyday needs while fostering connection and convenience,” she said.

She added that the contractor, HD Construction, is committed to delivering a world-class shopping experience, prioritising safety, efficiency and minimal disruption to the community.

“They are expected to redevelop the mall, local infrastructure, as well as the roads with a dateline set for the second part of this year.”

While much of Lynnridge Mall will temporarily close during refurbishment, several stores will still remain open to meet the needs of the community.
