Goatcher said the team arrived on March 13 at about 15:30 and only filled one pothole.

Following local business owner Debbie Goatcher’s complaint about the impact of the massive potholes near her business at Ben Rhydding Place, the City of Ekurhuleni has responded by stating that a team was dispatched to attend to the matter.

However, Goatcher said the team arrived on March 13 at about 15:30 and only filled one pothole.

She said they had informed her that they would be back but never returned.

At the time Goatcher expressed her frustration, stating that despite ongoing reports since 2023, the road has only worsened, especially following recent rains that have made potholes nearly invisible and increasingly hazardous.

She shared how parents have raised concerns about the damage the potholes cause to their cars, particularly during wet weather.

She recently had to replace her tyres after hitting a pothole right by the school’s gate.

The deteriorating road conditions have not only affected her personally but also the nursery school’s enrollment, as new parents are often put off by the state of the area.
